Big Rocks and Lots of Water

We had another overnight trip!  On Friday we got up early so we could leave at 6:30.  That's in the morning, folks.  The professors argued for us having breakfast on the bus but it was pretty interesting because we got dry bagels with nothing on them and juice boxes.  Mine was "Exotic coconut and pineapple blend."  I'm starting to be afraid of anything that says "exotic" on it.

Our first stop was Avebury.  It's like Stonehenge except that many of the stones are missing and it covers a lot more area.

After a few minutes there, we all got back on the bus to drive to Bath.
Bus activities! Homework.
Our first stop was, of course, the Roman Baths there.

But we passed a little bit of America
One of my favorite parts was that we were all given little purple tokens we needed to get it.  Since we had all been on a bus for several hours, the majority of us needed to use the bathroom.  Nick made jokes about the bathroom in the Bath, uh, room.  There were people who didn't quite get it and thought the tokens were needed to use the restroom.  So funny.

Romans

At the end of the tour, we were allowed to taste the water from the spring.  It was still hot so it tasted like hot mineral water.  Pretty gross, but I took three sips for the joy of being able to say that I did.  I'd better be cured of all diseases now.  It made queens pregnant, right?
Me looking skeptical
We had a half an hour or so for a break between things.  I ate my lunch while watching a street performer.  He rode a giant unicycle while juggling flaming torches.  Cool.

Bath stones.  Every building is made out of this stuff
We then went for a brief walk to see a few of the things there.  One of these is the house of William Herschel.  Uranus was discovered in the backyard of this house!  As an astronomy freak, I was pretty excited.
We went to the Fashion Museum there.  It wasn't an impressive museum.  We were in and out in about half an hour.  Before it was our turn to go in, however, I had a somewhat lengthy conversation with Matt about changing my major to history.  I'm starting to very seriously consider it.  Coming here has made me remember how much I love history.  And it's not English.  I mostly just need out of the English major.

Through all of this, I was having pretty nasty stomach pains.  I managed to get some sleep and somehow missed our entrance to Wales.  I woke up and everyone was getting off the bus so I followed them.  I was so disoriented and in pain that I couldn't remember where I was going or why.  At one point I asked, "Where the HECK are we?"  and the professors' daughter was like... "Um, we're in Wales.  We've been here a while.  Did you not hear the announcements?"  I don't remember much after that.  I just remember telling myself to take lots of pictures so I could sort of enjoy it at a later time.  Just don't ask me to explain what they are.

A sign in welsh.  I have that one figured out

It's really too bad I missed all that.  Gorgeous!
So... in case you haven't noticed, there aren't in pictures of anyone else for this whole trip.  There's only a few of me, for that matter.  I think I've given up.  I'm remembering that I get along just fine by just hanging out with me.
