On My Own

In a good way.  I couldn't help throwing a little Les Mis reference in.

Yesterday everyone else was in the religion class so right after lunch I headed out on my own.  I wasn't quite sure where I was going.  I always get a little nervous when I go out on my own but as soon as I stepped down the front steps I started to smile.  It feels good to go out and do things in London by myself, away from the pressure of constantly being surrounded by people.  I went to the Natural History Museum and looked at rocks and dinosaurs.  I was a happy girl.  I had a great conversation with an elderly lady about gemstones.  There was also a group of about fifteen people in wheelchairs so I stopped and hung out with them for a while.

I've made a list of all the places I haven't been yet that I want to go to or places that I've only been once and need to get to again.  It's kind of a long list but because of that I know I'll stick to it better because I really don't have that much time left.

At dinner we were given apple pie as dessert.  One girl, Caity, decided to try to shove a huge bit of pie in her mouth all at one time.  One of the professors apparently used to eat a medium Frosty in one gulp and things like that so he had to take her on.  With us cheering excitedly in the background, he put almost a full slice in all at once.  I love how in this picture you can see his wife rolling her eyes a bit in the background.  I was not expecting that at dinner.

Professor Vs Pie
After dinner we all watched Bright Star, a movie about John Keats in preparation to visit his house today.  Also, the little girls helped me paint my fingernails.  The things I do for these people... :)
