Pushing Alarms

What I learned in the lift at the Tube station:
Don't lean on the wall next to the emergency alarm.  If you brush against it just a little it sends off an alarm!  And Christi, Kaylee, and Abby just laughed.  Thanks, guys.

Anyways.  Yesterday after we tried the first time to get tickets to a show, I went to Hamley's, a giant toy store.  The customer service here isn't that fantastic--they often ignore you--but there were workers everywhere demonstrating toys and asking if I needed help finding anything.  I also came across a magician.  Between the tricks he was showing off, this is what our conversation was like:

Him, seeing I was wearing an Oxford T-shirt: Oh, you're from Oxford!  Welcome!
Me: I'm actually not from Oxford.  Sorry.
Him: Where are you from then?
Me: Utah in the States
Him: Oh!  Why aren't you wearing a Utah shirt?  That's so much more exotic!

Then later he was very pleased when I told him I was a magician.  He said it's wonderful to have girls involved with magic.  These days I seem to make friends with people everywhere I go.

Right after dinner the four of us headed to the theatre.  We were there half an hour early and still managed to get seats only a few rows to the back and the side for only 25 pounds.   We were close enough that we got a little splashed when they flooded the stage.  It was so good!  I've never had such a powerful response to theatre.  I left feeling so happy that I wanted to splash around puddles, swing around lamp posts, and sing at the top of my lungs.  It was full of beautiful ballroom dancing and awesome tap dancing.  It was so fun!

Today we were all pretty tired so we took the DLR to Canary Wharf.  We sat in the front car because there is no engine and we could watch where we were going.  We then came back to get milkshakes at Fenton's (note for future study abroaders: ice cream place on Bayswater just before you turn the corner to Queensway tube station.  If you need an ice cream fix, it's way better than McDonalds!) and then relaxed.  The rest of the day should be pretty uneventful as well.
