I forgot my favorite part of the Day 2. When we were back in the hotel I was going out into the hall for a minute and the M Mason family comes in. Two of the girls ran up and gave me huge hugs and were eagerly asking about what I did that day. I love those girls. I'm probably going to miss them more than anything else.
Our first stop of Day 3 was a morning market in the Bastille. There I bought my weight in jewelry. Okay, not really, but I bought quite a bit of stuff because it was really pretty but very affordable. It was fun to wander around the market and see what they had for sale, including snails. Yummy?
When we were done at the market we headed to the metro station where we saw Dr M's family on their way to amazing places.

I had to take a picture of the map because in band I played a song with a movement called Pigalle. Hooray for band geek moments!
And while we were waiting for the metro I had to take pictures to prove we were there.
And a picture of the ring I had just bought. Pretty, eh?
And then finally the metro came.
But I wasn't done taking pictures of course.

And then we made it to our destination: Sacre-Couer! It was amazing because of all the fog surrounding it. By the way, if you are friends with me on Facebook I have some good group pictures in front of it that I've been tagged in but I'm too lazy to stick on the blog.
We didn't go in but that's okay. I liked the gargoyles!
There were a bunch of street musicians around this area (and street vendors, you can see some of their little Eiffel towers in the background). My favorite was the harp!
On our travels we came across an amazing sweet shop! I was in heaven.
Although it wasn't on the list of places we needed to go, some of the girls wanted to go see Moulin Rouge. Every other shop was a tourist shop or a sex shop. Sketchy. There was some really nasty stuff along that route! No, I did not take pictures. Don't be ridiculous.
Then, another place we just wanted to stop by, was the opera house. This is where Phantom of the Opera takes place apparently. We decided not to pay to go in.
Since I don't like Phantom, I didn't get my picture in front of it. Someone has to take the pictures.
We went and found lunch and then went to do our assignment at the Musee d'Orsay. There is a bunch of impressionist and post-impresionist art that we were supposed to look at. My favorite was Blue Waterlilies by Monet. You aren't allowed to take pictures so here's a picture stollen from the internet so you know which one I'm talking about. There were a lot of famous paintings there that I was excited to see. But like the previous days, we were all exhausted and our feet were aching. After we finished the assignment we sat down for a few minutes and I fell asleep. I was really that tired!
Finally we went to our last stop (I hope I got everything that happened... no promises though): Napolean's tomb.
| Don't judge the nastiness of this picture. I was tired. |
| Pretending to do homework in the hotel room. My roomie insisted on taking a bunch of them. I don't blame her. I'm attractive. :) |

I think it's cool that you got to see the Paris Opera House. :)
