As you probably know by now, I am going to be spending January-April in jolly old England! While I am very excited, this is the craziest and scariest thing I have ever done. People have been asking me how they can help, and so I am answering that question and also asking for the help of those who haven't asked me how they can help yet. Also, it allows all of you to be a part of this endeavor. Who wouldn't want that, right?
First of all, I have never been away from family by myself for more than two days. I think it was band tour and I already knew just about everybody. Two days is very different from three and a half months. I'm sure this will be fantastic for me but at the same time, there will probably be quite a bit of homesickness and freaking out. This is where all of you can help me.
The best thing to do is to let me know that there are people at home rooting for me! Obviously the best way to do this is the following:
1. Write me letters. I promise to respond to all letters with... uh, postcards at least. I'll probably be very busy. But I'll pick out nice ones, I promise!
2. Email me! My email address is on the right along with my mailing address. I have resolved to spend no more than 30 minutes every day on Facebook/email/whatever so I will try to write to you but it may take me some time. Even the smallest email will make me feel like people are thinking about me back home.
3. If you don't feel like writing letters, postcards, or emails... then here's something really small you can do! Do you see this box on the top left?
All you have to do is choose one of the following. One, you can put your email address in the top box and click submit. It'll look like this, except with your email, not mine.
Type in the spam prevention thingy, then go to your email. You'll receive an email from the site. Click on the link and it'll be done. Every time I post here, it'll email you. That way you don't even have to check to see if I've posted anything. You'll be the first to know! I highly recommend this option. The second option is to follow it on blogger, which is great if you're one of those people who check to see if your favorite blogs have had any posts lately. The next step is to read and enjoy the blog! Comments are especially appreciated so I know that there are people reading it. It makes me feel all speshul and loved. I'll be blogging almost every day as a kind of journal/way to keep people at home updated but it'll help if I know people are anxiously waiting to hear what cool things I've done that day.
Finally, just keep being awesome! Thanks for supporting me in this excellent adventure.
Also, one last thing. Even if we aren't the best of best friends, please still write to me! If I've talked to you at least once, that means I would love to hear from you and will try to write back to you.
Cheers!

Nice. I love how you're closing with "Cheers!" already.
ReplyDeleteYou can count on my waiting-in-breathless-anticipation for every new post.
Have a wonderful time-of-a-life, London friend.
