After lunch we all gathered and headed off to take a tour of the local library. We all got library cards! I don't think I can find my way back though so I probably won't be using it much. Next we went to another library, this time the British library! I got to see really cool things like original scores for Mendelssohn's wedding march, Franz Schubert, Henry Purcell, Handel's Messiah, Mozart. I saw Beethoven's tuning fork and Jane Austen's writing desk. I saw John Milton's commonplace book, notes from da Vinci, illuminated manuscripts from all over the world including China and Japan, the Gutenberg Bible, the Beatles' original lyrics to stuff like "Yesterday" and the Magna Carta. Awesome.

I felt a little silly at both the British Library and Westminster Abbey because we went around with little worksheets to do. Welcome to fourth grade. :) The worksheets aren't bad or anything. It just feels a little strange.
Afterwards I ended up being the only person to go home with the Masons, we take the Circle line, and you get the work of art a few posts back. And that was today.
