So I'm Lazy Now....

Blogging has just taken a backseat to a lot of things.  I know I'm going to regret this later since I'm also too lazy to write in my journal.

So.  What I remember from last week.

WEDNESDAY
As a group we went to the Imperial War Museum.  Worst part?  Tons and tons of French kids running everywhere, yelling, and, uh, not smelling too great.  The WWI was the part of the museum I spent the most time in.  There is a trenches thing you can go into.  I know it's nothing close to what it would have been like but it made me think.  I wasn't feeling too well so I spent a few hours there and then went back to the Centre to relax and do homework.

THURSDAY
Today was Super Museum Fun Day.  I found out about a museum for musical instruments nearby so I headed there.  It was really close to the V&A though so I headed to the theatre section (I'd heard from my good pals the Masons that that was the place to go) My favorite things were the trombone played by Gustav Holst as well as the score for Venus.  They had a bunch of really neat old instruments.  It was really small though so I decided to go somewhere else instead of walking straight home through Kensington Gardens like I had planned.

One of the things I was most determined to see while I was here was a museum of Egyptian Archeology. It was a little bit of a letdown but still pretty neat to see the engravings, jewelry and things they had there.  I still had plenty of time so I headed down the street to a Museum of Zoology.  Definitely not my favorite site of the day.  I mean, it would be cool if I had a thing for dissected eyeballs, brains, and elephant hearts...

After I finished trying to keep my lunch down, I hopped on the bus and went back home.  Good day. Best part?  All freeeeeee!

FRIDAY
What do you do when you want to make an Aylea very, very happy?

Here's a suggestion.  Take her to Kew Gardens!  The whole group knows about my love affair with plants.  Matt mentioned on the way over that it was really too bad we were going because I clearly wasn't interested. I told him that if I didn't come back to call lost and found and see if they put me somewhere.  He recommended pitching up a tent somewhere.  Sure enough, I was pretty tempted to spend the rest of my life there.

I've kind of given up on hanging out with other people from the group.  I have the self confidence now to get myself to where I need to be.  I spent the first little while with the M. Masons teaching one of his daughters how to do ventriloquism but I took a lot longer than other people because I had to examine as many leaves and pieces of bark as I could.  Besides, I was worried I was going to get on a plant high and start raving about how cool they are.  That would for sure lose me some friends.  I just wandered around by myself until the very end when I caught up with another group and went home with them.

 Trees were blossoming everywhere
The Mediterranean area was really neat!

 Nice escape home...

Laying on my back taking a rest on the grass, staring up at the trees and airplanes.  Reminded me of being a kid in Alaska.

You're not actually supposed to climb the trees apparently.

Beautiful.  And fun.  And terrific for a plant nerd.

SATURDAY
I spent the morning lost.  I was so lost for so long that I was starting to look into flat prices.  Only slightly kidding.  I was looking for Highgate Cemetery which is supposed to be really cool.  I got lost.  And then I got lost more.  And then I went back to the first place.  And then I got even loster.  And then I was cold and tired so I gave up.  I went to Camden Market, bought a hoodie to get the guy at the market to leave me alone (It wasn't the one I wanted but still okay I guess) and ate bang bang chicken to try to get myself to feel better.  I still didn't.  Even though it was my second to last Saturday in London I decided that I really needed sleep so I went to bed until conference started.

Conference was interesting.  It's interesting to watch it sitting next to your professor.  It's also fun to see a good friend of yours in the MTC choir.  Or your friend's brother standing next to David Archeletta.  Or however it is that you spell his name.

TODAY
Today Nick and Matt made us a special Conference breakfast.  French toast, hash browns, bacon (AMERICAN style bacon! :D), and scrambled eggs.  All we eat for breakfast is yogurt, cereal, and toast.  It was so nice to have real food for breakfast!

At 1:30 we took our group pictures outside the Centre.  There are scrapbooks with a picture of every group that has been in the London Centre.  We have now joined their ranks.

Then we went and had a talent show.  I made a balloon sword.  There was dancing, musical talents, art, and an eating contest.  Nick, his Stacie, and their son rewrote the words to Good Riddance and sang it with things that happened to us. Good times.

And now to rush off and do a few more of the things I have to do today before the next session of Conference starts.  Cheers!
