MONDAY
This was just one of those days. If I didn't have a fabulous sense of humor and the ability to laugh at myself I probably would have locked myself in a room, climbed under a rock, and stayed there forever. Instead I thought it was hilarious.
But still embarrassing.
Class went fine but as soon as I left the centre I started having problems. Wanna know all that happened? The numbers indicated the Embarrassing Events.
1. My purse got caught in the exit of the Tube station. They had to shut down the machine and take the door off to free me. 15 minutes.
I then went to a magic shop because it's hard to find real magic shops these days. It wasn't everything I ever dreamed of but it was still cool. For those who don't know, I'm a magician. I did not buy anything.
2. Since I was nearby, I decided to go to Covent Garden. I haven't been to Covent Garden since day two way back in January and I loved it. There was a street performer that I stopped to watch. I got hit on the head with one of his juggling yoyo whatever they're called. I left quickly. The audience laughed at me.
3. I got lost in Leicester Square. For an hour and a half.
But that wasn't entirely bad. I had a great time. It was so warm and beautiful and it was fun to be a part of the crowd wandering around lovely London. While I was there I stopped by M&M World which is probably the most fun store to wander through ever. I also found something to get for my dad which means I'm done with shopping for the family.
4. While I was still lost looking for whatever it was I was there for, I wandered by a gift shop. There I got into an unfortunate tussle with a model telephone booth. I cut my finger open and dripped blood all over. Ew.
I then went to run into a party store because I want to make balloon animals for my fellow students. I did not find what I needed.
5. After all of this I decided that I needed a milkshake from Fenton's. I met a whole bunch of the group there enjoying marvelous ice cream. So they were there when I tripped over this guy's foot and spread milkshake everywhere. The store is tiny so really, it went EVERYWHERE. I offered to clean it up but they just shooed me out as fast as they could.
6. On the tube to see War Horse the play (which was pretty good. The way they did the horses was fantastic) it was pointed out to me that my zipper was down.
Oh dear.
TUESDAY
Not quite as eventful as Monday was, I'm afraid. But still good.
In the optional history class we held a trial for Charles I. I was on the prosecution team. Unfortunately Charles made it out of the trial with his head still attached to his body. Drat.
In the optional English class we took a walk through Regent's Park to think about Mrs. Dalloway and to the stop where another of our books takes place. It was hard keeping up with Nick. He walks fast! And today my ankle is hurting again so I think that might be part of the problem... just kidding. I've just been walking around a lot more lately.
Nick's relative was performing at a free lunchtime concert at St. Martin's In The Fields so a few of us went to eat lunch in the crypt there (it's weird, you literally eat on the graves of people) and then to the concert. I was going to go to a museum but went there instead so I just went back to M&M World to get what I had picked out for dad. I saw a giant blue dancing M&M. Good times. This time I did not get lost.
Then I just went back to catch up on homework.
It's crazy though. All of this is almost ever. In just a few days I'll be headed on a plane back home. I wish I had another four months. Or a year. Or forever. I love London so much. But my biggest piece of advise for the people I know on their way? Go somewhere every day. The program got so much better once I got outside and started doing cool stuff in London. That's what I came here to do and I forgot that. When you guys get here, even if it's only for an hour a day, do something every single day! There's no way I'm going to get everything I want to do done. I thought I had forever to do stuff and you really don't. You could go somewhere every day for a year and still not hit every museum, every park, every cool store. I'm going to miss it here.
